Hancocks Chartered Accountants is a medium sized firm based in Tamworth, Northern New South Wales. Our firm has three principals and eight team members in our Tamworth Office. We also service a part-time office in Coonabarabran.

 

We act as accountants and advisers for a large number of partnerships, companies, family and unit trusts, self managed superannuation funds and individuals.

Our clients operate successfully in many diverse industries; these include accommodation and restaurants, building and construction, medicine and dentistry, land development and real estate, law, primary production, retailing, transport, finance and insurance.

Principals

 

Dennis Maunder  B.Ag.Ec., F.C.A.

 

 

Dennis joined the firm in 1975, having completed his Bachelor of Agricultural Economics at the University of New England at Armidale. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978 and was admitted as a principal of the practice in 1979. In addition, Dennis is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a registered Company Auditor, External Examiner of legal trust accounts and a member of CPA Australia.

Dennis assists clients with the implementation of computer accounting systems to suit individual clients, and ensures they have the most efficient system. He also advises on tax strategies, especially involving self managed superannuation funds. Dennis also enjoys the challenge of problem solving for clients in this ever changing commercial environment.

Continuing professional development is a major priority, and Dennis oversees technical training at Hancocks. He is also active with Tamworth CA Training Group Pty Ltd, a local training organisation for accountants.

Dennis enjoys spending his leisure time with his family, cycling and playing golf.

Alison Hamilton B.Fin.Admin., C.A.

 

  

 

Alison originally joined Hancocks after completing her HSC and worked with the firm until she started her family. Alison continued to work part-time in the industry until 1995 when she returned to Hancocks as a Manager. Alison gained her tertiary qualifications via distance education from the University of New England. After successfully completing further study, Alison became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in September 2000. On 1st July, 2001 Alison became a partner of Hancocks Chartered Accountants.

            With many years of experience in her profession, Alison can assist her clients with small and medium sized business advisory, agribusiness, SMSF and personal tax and accounting. Deadlines are a fact of life. Alison focuses on her client’s needs to meet their statutory taxation deadlines as well as providing assistance with their accounting needs and legitimately minimising their taxation exposure. In 2008 Alison became an Authorised Representative (No. 330261) of Professional Investment Service (PIS)*. Now via Hancocks Financial Services Alison can provide assistance with your financial goals and investment plans.

            Married to a local farmer and grazier, Alison has a strong connection to the land, and has an understanding of the many factors affecting people on the land. Outside work, Alison is a member of the finance council of her parish, St Nicholas’ and co-ordinates a regular ladies prayer group. She is also a director of the not for profit training and employment agency, Joblink Plus.

            In her spare time Alison enjoys spending time with her husband and family, and trying to improve her golf score.

Jocelyn Goodfellow B.Fin.Admin., C.A.

   
 
 

Jocelyn returned from Sydney in 1999 and joined Hancocks whilst completing her Bachelor of Financial Administration externally at the University of New England, Armidale.  After completing her tertiary studies, Jocelyn was admitted as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in September 2005 and on 31st October 2011 became a Principal of the practice.

Jocelyn has extensive experience in many software applications for Small to Medium Businesses and sees herself as a problem solver, ensuring the most efficient record-keeping system is implemented for the client for both compliance and business management purposes.  In harmony with these systems, Jocelyn provides advice on the future business strategies and tax minimisation structures for her clients.

 Also having a strong connection to the land, Jocelyn, her husband and his family own and operate a mixed farming business in Moonbi.  Since 2007 Jocelyn has volunteered her time and knowledge for the benefit of Kootingal & District PreSchool Inc. in her role as Treasurer.

 Jocelyn enjoys all things music, gardening and spending time with her family on the farm.
